Novemeber Blog Assignment: Lesson 1 Experience

All of the senior class gave their first lesson presentations in the beginning of this month. I was stressed but I felt confident in my presentation because I had a great mentor that help me figure out how to plan my first lesson and a small activity to do with the class.

The second day I was the first to go. The reason I went first was to get it out of the way and to calm down from all the nervousness that was inside of me. As I was up there I felt really confident in what I was saying and I even forgot that I was nervous too. If anything I made time perfectly, said what I needed to say, gave my three examples and I just felt I did a good job. I met all the requirements.

I talked about the biopsychosocial model which is in last months blog post. I went into detail if one thing is taken out then the cycle breaks. My three examples were Robin Williams depression, Anxiety Disorder in I Poly Students, and Schizophrenia in one of my relatives. I showed how that if one thing is taken out then it affects the whole cycle by death, stress, or etc..

EQ

1.   Review this.  Confirm by stating "I reviewed the rule of three for writing an EQ."
Confirmed
Essential Question
2.  Review the following EQs and
Tell us if each meets the rule of three.
Tell why they do or don't.
1.    What is the most important factor in healthy weight loss?

It doesn’t follow the rule of three because its doesn’t provide a framework for studies. Healthy weight loss is too broad of a subject. They need to have a main focus.

2.    What is most important to securing a conviction in a criminal investigation?

It follows the rule of three because provides framework for research. Has a main focus. Takes a stance and has a good format.

3.    What is most important in creating a hairstyle that best satisfies a customer?

It doesn’t follow the rule of three because the format. It doesn’t make much sense. Also, the stance it’s too broad focus on what kind of customer.

4.    How can an anesthesiologist best treat chronic pain?

It doesn’t follow the rule of three because its doesn’t provide a framework for studies. It would be crazy to research because different things cause chronic pain.

3.  Based on your review of the rule of 3 and your experience with assessing four EQs, please write another draft EQ for your senior project.

What does a client need to control their mental health?

Lesson 1 Reflection

1.     Positive Statement
What are you most proud of in your Lesson 1 Presentation and why?
I’m actually proud the way I was explaining the Biopsychosocial Model. It made me really excited to share that. I’m proud that I was able to remember all my research and interviews.
2.     Questions to Consider
a.          What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 1 Presentation (self-assessment)?

AE       P          AP       CR       NC

b.          Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 1 component contract.

I believe I deserve a P because I did all the requirements and I made the time. I was speaking loudly and was engaging the audience with my topic.
3.     What worked for you in your Lesson 1?
What work was the PowerPoint and the information I was giving.
4.     (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 1?
I would have to say a different hook activity to get the audience to think more about my topic.

October Blog Assignment: The Biopsychosocial Model

My mentor and I this month had explored the biopsychosocial model. Which is also known as BPS. The model is a breakdown of three things biological, psychological and  social

Biological aspect of it is how the body reacts to therapy and the medication that is being taken. Example if a patient is not sleeping well, diseases, or just the way your body handles the medication.

Psychological part is how is the therapy is treating the client. They could be attending therapy and their mind isn't  making necessarry  connections. That person might need psychologist. This applies to how the therapy is allowing a client to remain in  control of any  mental diseases or disorders they have.

The social aspect of BPS is the support a patient has outside the therapy room.  This includes: family, friends, or groups they have joined. This gives a client the encouragement to attend therapy sessions.

All these traits are what make up the biopsychosocial model and take one of these things out and it can cause a patient to go back to return to previous behaviors or not control their mental health.

This diagram displays it and how all the characteristics  relate and connect as a whole. The diagram is an excellent
model that should be followed by patients.
